Come and join us in celebrating the Holiday Season at the annual City Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting Celebration, followed by the Carmel Plaza Holiday Open House.

The celebration begins at Devendorf Park on Ocean Avenue between Junipero and Mission, where the Monterey Fire Department will deliver Santa Claus at 3:30 p.m. as the Del Monte Brass fills the park with festive music. From 4:00 to 4:30 p.m., the Menorah Lighting Ceremony takes place with plenty of gelt, dreidel spinning, and joyful singing.

At 4:30 p.m., the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony begins, building toward the beloved moment when the tree is illuminated at 5:30 p.m. or shortly thereafter. Santa and community leaders join the crowd for this magical countdown.

Immediately following the tree lighting, Carmel Plaza—just steps away on Ocean between Junipero and Mission—welcomes guests to their annual Holiday Open House until 7 p.m. Enjoy an evening of seasonal delights including small bites, festive warm drinks, face painting, kids’ activities, and visits with Santa and Martin the Magical Elf.
